Farmboy in training adventure

Yesterday was an amazing day for my 3 farmboys. They were invited to go help a friend combine. They left shortly after lunch and didn't return until dark. Upon their arrival home, they were eager to share how they each got to drive the combine. It proved to be a great distraction for our oldest who was quite anxious about today being the first day of school. His mind was quite occupied with the adventure of it all. I'm sure they all slept well thinking about their day and how they'd like to go again soon.

Today was the first day for both boys at their new schools. Its a 27 mile ride in for youngest, a 5 mile ride to the bus stop for oldest and about a 12 mile bus ride in. I think they had good days. I know the youngest did- teacher said he had a great day. Oldest came in the door from carpool and his first question he asked was whether his dad was out combining again. Dad did go back for a second day of fun, I mean work. Oldest boy is now disheartened, thinking it not fair he could not be helping with the harvest today as well. Oldest boy has requested he be homeschooled so he can stay at home and work. How long do you think that thought/feeling will last? Oldest is so much like his dad.... a good day everyone.

  1. Glad everyone had a good day at school. Are you driving youngest son to school or does he have a bus?
