What a week!

Its been a long week of sorts here. In the midst of Saturdays exciting activities last week, we also had the septic line from the house to the tank break. The break happened to be under the 14 x 24 ft deck, which had to be ripped off to dig a 3 ft trench to find the break. Temporary patch is on the pipe. Honey is intending to dig up the remainder of the line up to the septic tank and replace. We did go without water/septic for a day- thanks to the neighbors who let us use the showers and there is another toilet in the big barn that was on a different septic, so life wasn't too rough. Hoping to get back to finishing the line this week. Boys are interested in getting a backhoe. We'll see how that develops.

Youngest one was out sick most of the week- sinus infection/possible strep. Got him in to the doc on Wed and started on meds. He's much better, but not running 100% yet.

Combine crew is back today (barley was too green last week, so they had to stop) finishing up the harvest. Pressure is really on the farmers here. The last 2 days we've been in the 80s. Morning lows are in the upper 30's and its really been cool and damp. Their crops can't ripen in conditions like this and folks are already talking about winter. When we lived here 14 years ago, I remember the first frost at the end of September. The way time is going, it'll be here very quickly.

Another neighbor brought over Tomato pie this week which was yummy! It was like a pizza, with a thick, spicy sauce and finely grated cheese on top. Really great! I love it when folks share!!

Looking forward to a visit tomorrow from military buddies from OK. They're up to visit family and we'll get to share bruch in the morning with them.

Kitties are doing GREAT. We need help naming some of them, so here comes the "Name the kitties" contest!!
