Hey!! Hope you are doing well!
Its been busy here since we last checked in. Youngest and honey went to the state Special olympics Spring games where youngest won a gold medal in the softball throw, a 4th place ribbon in the 500 meter cycling event and a gold medal in the 5k cycling event. They had a blast.
Oldest and I held down the fort here for part of that time and headed out to visit our good friends on the east coast to celebrate their oldest's confirmation. A wonderful time was had, so much fun that our airline decided to cancel our flight home and give us one more day full of fun and giggles. God has blessed us abundantly with good people in our lives, and you know who you are! Our life in the military allowed us to enlarge our family all over the US, giving us some wonderful life-long relationships. He is so good and we are grateful!!
The day we left renter farmer planted, a week ago. Honey tells me this morning that the barley is coming up. Will send pics soon as its more noticeable. We started mowing the grass, first time this season. Our tulips are finally blooming and the trees are sprouting leaves. We haven't had the trees bloom yet, but its coming. Next weekend is memorial day. Oldest is out of school in 3.5 days, youngest has 2 weeks and I can't believe summer is around the corner!! Certainly doesn't feel like it weather wise!
Hoping to have the garden in by next weekend. Gma/pa brought potatoes we hope to get in. Youngest and honey helped a neighbor rototill and they sent home raspberry bushes, gladiolas, chamomile and some other flowers for us to start. I know we'll have a short growing season, but am hoping for a good garden this year. I missed canning and eating fresh veggies throughout the summer last year, due to the move. We'll frequent the farmer's markets if not.
We had our annual teacher dinner yesterday, inviting teachers and therapists from both boys schools. So much fun! So many leftovers!! Neighbors coming by today for dinner to help us polish some of those off! Thats what friends are for, right??!
Kitties are doing great at 4 weeks and starting to show energy and curiosity, venturing outside the kitty coop. Some of them need names! We'll post pics and maybe you can help us!! Winners from the last contest, remember your free nights lodging on the farm. One winner is scheduled already to visit in July!
Wishing you a fabulous week!!
