Summer is here!

Happy 4th everyone! Thing are going well here. The boys are staying very busy trying to keep the trees watered. The last few days have been 100+. We don't have air conditioning where we are, but we don't often have a lot of days like this in our summer. It's also a dry heat as well.

Oldest has had a busy summer working for the farmer part time and juggling wisdom teeth, FFA range days, state fair and envirothon national competitions. We also need to find time to go look at a few colleges as well. They say the older you get,the faster time goes. I believe it.

Youngest is loving his summer days of "father-son time" and has been working along side his dad. There is always something to do. He continues his therapy over the summer, has a tutor for a few hours twice a week and has been to a few hikes with our adapted rec program here. He still loves to run errands and keeps us moving because he likes to stay busy.

Honey is utilizing every hour of extra daylight summer has. The trees he has worked very hard on. The other afternoon while returning home from town 2 deer ran into the barley field from hanging out in the trees. They love the new trees. Honey has been busy talking with folks to find ways to keep the deer away. The other night he sprayed a concoction of tobacco and wilt stop on the trees, to hopefully deter them from eating them.

The barley is looking good and the irrigation is on now as well.  We still have our farm ground rented while we finish up some projects around home.  Speaking of, the shop has been waiting for us to work on it, but the trees have dominated the attention. The shop does keep amazingly cool, a nice place for us to go on a hot summer day. The coolness is coming from the floor and kept with the great insulation the building has. Honey has commented several times that "this is how you should build a house".

My work is keeping me hopping. I just accepted a new position there, so am in a learning mode as well. The garden is growing but not producing just yet.
