update from here

Hello!  We are trying hard to stay out of trouble here.  I'm not sure where time is going, but it is definitely flying.

Ski season is done for us. The last ski area open around here closes today.  We've enjoyed our spring like weather the last few weeks. Calling for snow tonight but back into 50-60s later in the week. We could sure use the moisture.

You know its spring around here when you can smell the smoke in the air. The farmers are burning their fields in preparation of planting. They've marked our farm with ditches in preparation of the burn. Our farmer has several other fields in the area so I'm sure he'll get around to it soon. 

Honey is still working on the wiring in the shop. He is hoping to be close to wrapping up.  We are expecting another 400 trees in 2 weeks and we need to get the ground prepped as well.  I don't think we'll ever run out of things to do here.

Oldest has had a really good year with his science fair project- an economics study on the use of flax seed. This was the third phase of his 4 year study on flax seed, on trying to get a crop farmers can sell multiple times.  He placed third in the state science fair with his project, winning a trip to compete in the international science fair in Phoenix in May.  He also had that presentation at the state FFA AgriScience competition and won a trip to compete at the National FFA Agriscience Fair/Convention in Louisville in October.  He has worked hard with his project and it is good that he has learned the benefits that hard work pays off. He is anticipating a 4th phase dealing with the nutritional benefits of flax. 

Oldest is working hard too to stay on top his studies. Prom came and went with much fun. We are beginning to look ahead to ACTs and college visits.  Hard to believe that time is approaching.

Youngest is doing well. Wrapped up his job at the VA, so that another classmate could share the experience. He's anxiously anticipating his next job at school.  He has always loved a job and is much happier the busier he stays. Things are going well for him. He is gearing up for special olympics spring games with cycling, turbojav and running.
